A few words about me...

Life

After growing up in the Czech Republic, I came to live in London in my early 20s. When I first arrived I tried a number of different jobs, from working in hospitality serving celebrities, to being a bike courier and even a personal shopper. I’ve taken something from every job I’ve had and enjoyed some amazing life experiences along the way!

What I've studied

But deep down I’ve always dreamed of becoming a language teacher. It’s long been a passion of mine but it was about finding the right time in my life to pursue it as a career. And in 2017, I gained an English Language Teaching degree at the University of Greenwich. My next step was to enrol on an English to Czech Translation course at the University of Westminster. In 2023 I completed a Teaching Czech as a Foreign Language Methodology Course at the Charles University in Prague.

What I do best

In 2017 I secured a fantastic job teaching Czech to employees at Volkswagen UK. Later I also collaborated with a King's College London university professor who needed help studying Czech in order to develop a history research project. Since 2021 I have been working as a Czech language teacher for the UK Foreign Office, preparing diplomats for their posting in Prague. It has been a fantastic opportunity that has really helped me grow as a language teacher. In 2023 I taught online language courses at the Charles University Institute for Language Studies in Prague.
